movie together while the rest of the fam are on a trip
fruit stand fresh

i just made our flights
to drop her off at college.
so now there is this
flood of sadness
that has settled
deep within my heart.
i am so excited for her and so sad for us.
because the dreams
are getting mixed with reality
and this next chapter
is right around the corner.
that is all.

even though i missed her very first day of school
(because that was also luke’s very first day of school),
i will not miss her last.
but i will miss her
when the fall rolls around
and our house is a lot more quiet
and a lot less fun
and a lot less messy
and a lot less creative.
oh, how i will miss this girl.

she is one of my most favorite humans.
